After a three-year sabbatical, Ilse was deliberately looking for a sustainable employer. In 2019, she started as a Credit Controller, and today she temporarily works as a Credit Manager, overseeing the worldwide credits and leading the team.

"Before I started at Oleon, my husband and I sailed from the Caribbean to Australia. During that trip, we saw the consequences of global warming with our own eyes: plastic pollution, sea-level rise, overfishing... "Credit control is the link between finance and sales. I love it when we can find solutions by working together across different teams and departments. It’s when we’re getting stuff done together that I feel that my work is useful. The collaboration runs smoothly here, which isn’t always the case at other companies. I also get the chance to work with people from other countries. Lately I implemented our procedures in a new plant in the UK, for example.”

when empowering others.

“Coaching people, training them and watching them make progress, motivates me immensely. I always look for what people particularly like about their jobs and try to organize the work accordingly. If someone doesn’t like a task that someone else in the team excels at, why wouldn’t you divide the workload differently? It’s all about complementarity. Apart from that, I try to give my team members as much freedom as possible.”
