Madeleine is passionate about cosmetical engineering. Three years ago, she earned her master’s degree and started working as an R&D Engineer in cosmetic applications at Oleon. Ever since, she has been expanding her knowledge and responsibilities, and this is just the beginning.
R&D Engineer Madeleine works in her element...
when using her creativity and imagination.
“I create finished products for various categories such as sun care, skin care, hair care, and make-up. The goal is to move away from certain petrochemical molecules, which is crucial for the long-term health of our planet and people. Innovation provides the freedom to develop our imagination and creativity. Creating these new ingredients and understanding customer needs is incredibly fulfilling.”
when developing new molecules for sunscreen.
“One of the innovative projects I’ve worked on recently is a UV filter project. In this project, we developed new molecules for sunscreens that help solubilize UV filters using green molecules instead of petrochemical ones. We conducted application tests to evaluate the effectiveness of these molecules both on their own and within formulations. After initial testing, we re-evaluated to ensure they worked as intended. Projects like these align with my belief that the future of the cosmetic industry hinges on improving both human and environmental safety.”
when taking on new responsibilities.
“In the past three years, my role has evolved from its original scope. I got the opportunity to develop panels for odor and sensory feedback. Over time, I also began taking on more project work, with these projects growing in importance. I’ve become more involved with the Marketing & Sales team and our customers, working closely with them to address specific questions and needs. Expanding my responsibilities and skills keeps me motivated.”
